*THE BRIGHT SIDE*
In the wake of what has been going on in the stock market recently, the state of our economy and housing market and the growing concern over the GM Plant closing in Janesville - it is difficult to stay positive these days. But there is a bright side! Here is a short list of things to be thankful for, that serve as positive indicators for a brighter future:
- The Bailout: Whether you were for it or against it, without it our economy was in serious jeopardy; both home and abroad.
- The Stock Market: After disastrous results last week, Monday we saw the market climb to near record numbers, climbing over 900 points! All of which was a direct result of the bailout.
- Gas & Oil Prices: The prices for a barrel of oil dropped below $80 a barrel - a 13 month low! Thats down from $147 a barrel we saw just months ago. Gas in some areas in Wisconsin has now dipped below $3 a gallon! Let's keep it dropping!
- The Election: Thankfully, it's almost over! Don't know about most of you, but we are growing tired of all the adds and mud slinging. Not to mention, 'EVERY' election year is a Down-year in our economy. Let's get it over with and start moving forward!
- Market Up-tick: There has been a positive up-tick in Real Estate Sales in major markets such as Florida, Las Vegas, California & Minneapolis. These are some of the hardest-hit markets in the nation and with this up-tick it signals a rebound.
- Local Real Estate Market: The average sales price in Rock County seems to be holding. Meaning that home prices in our area are stable versus many other 'declining' markets.
- Brighter Side: Economists see All-the-Above as positive indicators that the economy, including the housing market, has better times ahead of it - and as soon as mid-2009! So let's stay positive and focus on a brighter future!
